    Engineer Mosharraf Hossain freed after getting bail in all cases

     

    Born on January 12, 1943, in Dhum village of Mirsharai in Chattogram, Mosharraf was the son of SW Hossain, a prominent businessman and social worker. He completed his schooling in his hometown before enrolling at the Institute of Engineering and Technology in Lahore, Pakistan, where he graduated in Mining Engineering in 1966.
    His professional background earned him the title “Engineer”, which remained attached to his name throughout his political career.

    He entered politics during his student life and was elected a member of the East Pakistan Provincial Assembly in 1970. During the Liberation War in 1971, he played an active role in organising resistance in the Chattogram region and served as a sub-sector commander under Sector 1. He was also involved in key wartime operations, including the blowing up of Shuvapur Bridge to disrupt Pakistani forces’ movement between Cumilla and Chattogram.
